Wandering around Porto
Travel – Porto
Wandering around town
That’s it, let’s go to Porto;
Our great friends Sofia & André, stylist and photographer, the talented duo driving Brancoprata, just look at their website to see how good they are, no kidding. They welcomed us for a great WE there.
Well Porto, I just knew the bridge and the drink, that’s it. I didn’t know it was that dramatic and vibrant, and there’s even the ocean, yeah like the beach and you can even surf, which I did. And I don’t think there’s any big city in Europe where you can surf decent waves, it just doesn’t exist. Come on Barcelona, you dont have real waves even though you try to make everyone believe that.
Well you can have that in America, but food would be different etc etc, well don’t eat too much Pasteis, Francesinha … you know. Food-wise it’s very diverse, tasty many cool places where you feel good and home. I love the authentic coffee bars with the old men pulling coffee old-way. And big up for Rui Paula’s restaurant Casa de Cha da Boa Nova designed by Alvaro Siza – it’s a bit more expensive but it was really worth it and the dude is funny.
Architecture-wise, we heard that artists that settled in Berlin in the 2000’s now actually move to Porto, this creative city was once abandoned, but now has such a great dynamic energy with lots of new renovated projects, bars opening up and open super late. And also obviously there’s all the cool buildings by Alvaro Siza.
All have been shot on film, developed and scanned as usual by Carmencita Film Lab ( Canon 1V + Superia 200 @ 400 )
and there you arrive to the beautiful studio of Brancoprata, downtown Porto
Sofia can just put anything on any table and it look beautiful, she’s a magician !
